My work is site specific - each design a response to a particular environment.

An early and ongoing interest in archaeology and a fascination with the written word gives, where relevant, historical and archaeological references to my designs and draws particularly on historical scripts, alphabets and lettering.

I am particularly interested in design at ground level ie paving and flooring designs. I work with a variety of materials including clay (raku), mosaic, brick, concrete and textiles.

I have considerable experience running arts workshops developed over twelve years of practising as a Public Artist. The majority of commissions have held artist-led community involvement at their heart.
